Simeonie Siakuluk is an Inuit artist originally from the small community of Hall Beach, N.W.T. He previously worked in the civil service as an information officer and also owned and operated a snowmobile dealership in the neighboring community of Igloolik during the 1980's. Learning to sculpt from his father and brother, Siakuluk's artistic abilities come to life through the majestic movement of his animal depictions. Rolling muscles, strength, haunting reality, Simeonie's sculptures jump to life.

In 1988, Siakuluk moved south to Edmonton Alberta where he discovered a fellow artist, Mark Totan. This relationship proved mutually beneficial to both artists, with their works gaining a wide following throughout Canada and the U.S.

Siakuluk earns his income from his work which provides him and his family of three children a comfortable lifestyle.
