Biography

Born: September 4, 1958 Male
Resides: Gjoa Haven; also lived in Spence Bay
Sculpture

Joseph is the son of the late Joata Suqslak, a carver from of Gjoa Haven.
His mother, Lena Qiyuk Suqslak, is a carver and crafts artist. Joseph's
brother, Moses Pameogarak, is also a carver.

1991 Attended Qatuujiqatgit Sanaguatit-Contemporary Carving/Sculpting Session, organized by the Inuit Artists' College at the Ottawa School of Art in April/May.

1992 Joseph received a scholarship from the Inuit Art Foundation to attend a three-week carving workshop at the Carving Studio Center in West Rutland, Vermont.
