1948 Family moves to the United States; settles in West New York, New Jersey
1955 Becomes a United States citizen
1955 - 59 Studies at Rutgers University, New Brunswick, New Jersey
1959 First solo exhibition in New York at the Reuben Gallery
Begins to participate in "Happenings" at the Reuben Gallery
1959 - 62 Studies art history at Columbia University, New York. Receives Woodrow Wilson Fellowship
1969 Completes a short film entitled "Self with Kim Levin"
1971 Retrospective of boxes at Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago
1971 - 72 Teaches at Brooklyn College, New York
1972 Retrospective at Whitney Museum of American Art, New York
1982 Retrospective of pastel drawings organized by the Denver Art Museum, Colorado; travels
1983 Retrospective of Polaroid photographs, Cambridge, Massachusetts, organized by the Polaroid International Collection; travels
