1956 Participated in an experimental graphics workshop in Baker Lake (uncatalogued and unpublished)

1969 Large applique wallhanging originally presented to the N.W.T. Legislative Assembly, now a permanent feature of the Assembly's Chamber in Yellowknife.

1971 Received a travel grant from the Canadian Council

1972 Illustrated "I Breathed A New Song", an anthology of Inuit Poetry edited by Richard Lewis.

1973 Commissioned to make a wallhanging for the lobby of the National Art Centre. Ottawa; Oonark present for the unveiling.

1973 A wallhanging made by Oonark was presented to H.R.H. Queen Elizabeth on behalf of the Inuit of the Northwest Territories.

1974 Received the award for the best in the show for her embroidery and appliqued wallhanging in the exhibition " Crafts from Arctic Canada".

1975 Elected a member of the Royal Canadian Academy of Arts.

1976 In Ottawa to attend the presentation of the Sunday Missal of the Roman Catholic Church which contains an illustration by Oonark. Missal published by the Canadian Catholic Council of Bishops.

1976 Created an orginal design for first day cover and cachet print (edition of 1,000) for a United Nations stamp honouring the Habitat conferance in Vancouver; travelled to New York and Autographed covers. Original drawing purchased by National Museum of Civilization, Ottawa

1977 Travelled to Charlottetown, P.E.I. to attend a conferance of the Canadian Crafts Council during which Oonark was made an Honorary member.

1978 Travelled to Toronto to attend the opening of a wallhanging exhibition at the Innuit Gallery of Eskimo Art.

1984 Recipient of a Women's Caucus for Art Award in Toronto

1984 Named an Officer of the Order of Canada

1984 Oonark's 1983 print "Giver of Life" was presented to his Holiness John Paul II at an Outdoor Papal Mass in Ottawa.
