These graphic images of Steve Hanks paintings are done by a process called "Giclee". The process entails scanning the image digitally, and then rendering the image in an "Iris" printer which actually sprays, or giclees, the image onto the paper. The beauty of the process is that it is an exact rendering of the original. In Steve Hanks case, this benefit is enhanced by the fact that the prints can be made on the same paper that he paints on.
