A one-time industrial designer for Ford Motor Company, Carl Andree Davidt today produces sculptural works which serve a function, straddling the fine and decorative arts. His more recent sculptures have begun to incorporate the human form.

This December, Davidt will be exhibiting thirteen recent works inspired by his exploration of time, and the numerous examples where time references are made in figures of speech.  These are playful, figurative works which reflect his commitment to craftsmanship and his facination with the process of melding old, new, used, rusted, painted, found and often given material.

Carl Andree Davidt’s family roots grow from the steel mills of western Pennsylvania, spawning his passion for industrial techniques applied to the context of art making.

His background includes numerous large-scale sculpture and furniture commission projects as well. Since1997, he has been working out of his studio in the mountains of North Carolina.
