Candace Whittemore Lovely
Selected Paintings from 1990 - 2000

Celebrated Boston artist, Candace Whittemore Lovely, returns home for an exhibit of her largest paintings of Fair Ladies from Martha's Vineyard, Nantucket, The Cape and Boston. Also, included in this exhibit will be a couple surprises, the latest Boston Red Sox's paintings, including a couple of Pedro and the Green Monster. Many of the original oil paintings are available in published limited edition prints, signed and numbered by the artist. 

Lovely was born in 1953 Springfield, Vermont and educated  amongst The Boston School of Artists, Robert Cormier and Paul  Ingbretson.
An Impressionist painter with a magnificent sense of light and color. Lovely uses a sharp contrast of warm and cool colors along with dynamic compositional perspective. The artists works include: figurative, portraiture, landscape and still-life paintings. Lovely has been featured in several galleries, auction houses, museums and universities around the United States. 

Lovely is a Copley Master - a prestigious honor  bestowed upon artists from the Copley Society of Boston. She has  many accomplishments including: in 1991, she painted the First  Lady Barbara Bush at the White House, in 1995, James R. Bakker  Antiques, Inc. held a One Person Auction, in 1998, she was a  Resident Artist at The Colony Hotel, Kennebunkport, ME and two months ago, The History Channel featured her painting Nantucket for a TV program titled "11 Most Endangered Areas under The National Historic Preservation Trust." Recently, while working on a commission out on Nantucket, Lovely was filmed by A&E for a program featured on CNN.

Several of her works are available in prints which are published up and down the east coast, from Maine to the Carolinas.

Nowadays, you'll find Lovely painting the northern light near her home, on an island in the Atlantic Ocean.
