Apolonija Sustersic wurde 1966 in Ljubljana/Slowenien geborenen und lebt in Amsterdam.
Ausstellung im Kunstverein Frankfurt, 17.03. - 30.04.2000:
"Ausverkauf' ist der Titel eines Videos und einer Videoinstallation. Die Videoinstallation ist eine Komposition aus zwei Videobändern.
Das eine Videoband, mit dem Titel "Ausverkauf', zeigt den öffentlichen Verkauf eines alten Kinos. Dieses Video wird auf einem Monitor gezeigt.
Das andere Video ist ein Loop. Zu sehen ist ein sich permanent öffnender und schließender Kinovorhang, bzw. das Erscheinen und Verschwinden der hinter dem Vorhang verborgenen, weißen Projektionswand. Dieses Video wird auf eine Wand projiziert.
Der Monitor und die Projektion stehen einander gegenüber. Es gibt Sitzmöglichkeiten, die alle auf den Monitor ausgerichtet sind. Während man das eine Video schaut, läuft der Kinovorhang-Loop im Rücken weiter. Die Tonspur besteht aus einem Mix von Samples aus bekannten Filmen.
